The ZR1 is the “King Of The Hill”, for years, THE Vette I always wanted. This particular ZR1 in Lot 7004.1 is the “Active Suspension” prototype, making it ultra rare out of the GM Heritage Collection.

Lot 1289.1, yeah, that’s a Pontiac Fuel Injected car, ultra rare! Ultra cool!

Lot 1456, the JFK Ambulance, always a car surrounded in a little bit of controversy. One things for sure, it always makes for good TV!

Lot 1390, better known as CERV 1. Developed by Zora Arkus-Duntov, one of the most innovative, important pieces of automotive history in American history. This car has a real chance at being top seller of the weekend in my opinion.

“Tanker” Corvette’s are cool, split window coupe’s are cool, Z06’s are cool, cars owned by famous people in the automotive world are cool. Well Lot 1363 has all of that and more! Check it out!

Honestly, there is just too many awesome cars to talk about today! Just get in front of the TV and watch all of Velocity’s coverage!! It’s gonna be epic!

Friday at Barrett-Jackson! Some of the nicest rides in the country will be crossing the block today! Check out a few of our favorites!

(All photos credit Barrett-Jackson.com)

Black, low gear, 4-speed, no heater, dog dish hub caps, big engine. Nothing beats a plain Jane car. This 1960 Chevy is a great example of “built to run”. Check it out, Lot 982.

I never understood why more people didn’t do Dodge Viper engine swaps over the years? I remember seeing a Challenger at Carlisle years ago that had one and thought that was just the coolest thing. Apparently the builder of Lot 1016 agree’s with me!

I know what your thinking, Studebaker? But look at Lot 1027, check out the McCulloch supercharger hanging from the top of the engine.

Something about this ‘Cuda just grabs my eye. Its traditional Mopar. Over the top color, billboards, shaker hood, got to love it! Check it out, Lot 1071.

Low miles, four speed, hold on to your hat when this one goes across the block, it’s gonna ring the bell. Lot 1133.

Here are our cars to watch for today!

(All Photos Credit Barrett-Jackson.com)

Lot 111, a 1991 Dodge Stealth. I’ve always liked these cars and their Mitsubishi cousin’s! They had a lot of problems back in the day, but still very cool cars!

Lot 214, BAN-ONE, need I say more?

Lot 204, they are only original once! Glad to see this 1940 Ford left that way, the patina on this thing is out of this world awesome!

Lot 235, The Skoal Bandit, maybe not as famous as its #33 cousin, but this car is still a cool piece. Top ten finish at Indy in 1995, driven by Rick Mast.

Lot 169 is a very clean, simple Corvette. In the world of big blocks and L88’s, and 427’s, and this and that, it’s just nice to see a simple, clean small block car!

Lot 172‘s color is what caught my eye most. Emberglo Orange, check it out!

.

Lot 905: 1991 GMC Saudi Syclone

What makes this one cool: We mentioned another GMC Syclone earlier in the week, but this one is one of 31 “Saudi” Syclone’s that were built for export. Ultra rare, I can’t remember the last time I saw one up for sale. This one has been modded a little bit so we will see how that effects its final auction price.

Lot 999: 1969 Ford Talladega

What makes this one cool: By this point, you know I have a thing for Talladega’s!

Lot 1004: 1970 Plymouth HEMI ‘Cuda Convertible

What makes this one cool: HEMI, ‘CUDA, CONVERTIBLE. Need I say more?

Lot 1024: 1970 Ford Torino King Cobra “Recreation”¬†

What makes this one cool: Speaking of the Ford Talladega, this one is its evil big brother. A VERY rare car and personally one of my favorites of all time, this one is actually a clone. But even in clone form, this one has a lot of nice parts on it and as rare as they are, I expect this one to go for somewhere between 100,000 and 200,000 grand.

Lot 1037: 1974 Pontiac Trans Am Super Duty 455

What makes this one cool: These cars were factory beasts, rare, and always bring good money.

Lot 1069: 1969 Chevrolet Camaro COPO

What makes this one cool: A lot of COPO cars you see are restored or kept in their factory condition, but honestly, that’s not what they were meant to do, they were meant to drag race. That is exactly what this one did. With its history, it will be interesting to see if that helps or hurts its value.

Lot 1051: 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A

What makes this one cool: Being that there is one in my garage, I gotta keep my eye on this one!

Lot 616: 1996 Ford Mustang Shinoda Boss

What makes this one cool: I’ve always been a big fan of the SN95 Shinoda cars, although they’ve never really brought big money. Curious to see what this one does, it might set an upward trend for the cars.

Lot 626: 1949 Plymouth Suburban

What makes this one cool: I saw one of these a few years ago at a show for sale and fell in love with it. It was still in its original glory, not built like this one. I thought then, what a cool car that would make. I guess someone else had the same idea!

Lot 756: 1972 Chevrolet Corvette LT1

What makes this one cool: This is one of several 1972 LT1’s going across the blocks on Thursday. The LT1 in my opinion may be or is the best performing Corvette ever built pre-modern era. Especially in small block form. What makes this one cool is its a factory air car and a rare color. In fact my dad had an identical car a few years back, same color and all.

Lot 770.2 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat

What makes this one cool: These cars are all the fuss in the media and very hard to get right now. I’d imagine someone will pay a premium price to put this one in their garage.

Lot 791: 2007 Shelby GT Coupe

What makes this one cool: Aside from this being an EPA test car, these Shelby GT’s are probably the most well balanced car ever built on the S197 chassis and are actually closer to the Shelby heritage than the more popular GT 500’s.
