Sadly in the collector car world “Hemi” just doesn’t do what it used to, but when you ad convertible to it, it still rings the bell! The GTX convertible is one of the rarest of them all! Lot L77 is 1 of 11!

Lot 82.1 not only carries three legendary drivers signature, but one of them on the door as well. Signed by Shelby, Unser, and Bondurant. This Bob Bondurant racing Mustang is a cool piece of history for anyone’s collection!

I love a Superbird, but the white on Lot L84 may be the classiest color of them all.

Lot 79.1, better known as King Of The Hill, the ZR1. This low mile example should really ring the bell!

Lot L40 brings us the first Foxbody Mustang of the auction. This is an SSP car, meaning basically it was a cop car. This particular one was a Florida Highway Patrol Car. These cars have been doing really good at auctions as of late, it will be interesting to see what trend this one sets for the year.

Sunday Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale: Cars To Watch

1964 Chevrolet Corvette

64vette
We’ve saw our share of Corvette’s go across the block this week, from mild to wild to all original NCRS cars. This 64 will be one of the bidders last chances to get a nice original car. I’m curious to watch it because 1964 is usually the year no one wants because its not a “split-window” but it doesn’t have the better features of the 1965. But if someone wants a vette and have been sitting on there money all weekend they might get desperate and pay for this one.

Pointless? Yes, but it would still be cool to have in your garage. “Yeah, that’s my Harley, its still in the box.”

1967 Chevrolet Corvette
Lot Number 1569

At first glance this looks just like any other 1967 Vette, but its the transmission that makes this one special. Its a 3-speed instead of a 4-speed or automatic. I’ve saw a few of these cars pop up over the years but they are pretty dang rare.

This car was built by Gas Monkey Garage in Dallas, Texas so it has to be on the watch list!

This car caught my attention because it is a nice mix of “resto-mod” and original. It’s modded slightly with just a nice mildy built engine, wheels that are nice but not over the top, and just a few other minor mods. Nothing is done too extreme that this car couldn’t be put back to 100% stock which may appeal to some of the purist that want a nice driver, but don’t like the idea of totally reworking a car to the point that nothing on it is stock anymore.

Another really nice clean C10 truck. This one has a crate big block in it with a late model transmission, should be a great cruiser!

256 actual miles on this pretty much brand new truck! I could see this one going either way price wise, a steal on a new truck for someone, or an over priced worthless collectable!

I think the picture speaks for itself! This Olds is a work of art!

First foxbody love of the list. This one made it for two reason’s. Number one it sold at a steal at 3,000 dollars. And number two I think “Sir Camsalot” is a pretty cool name to have on your back glass!

These 3rd gen Camaro’s make one of the best big tire drag cars.

I’m a sucker for BIG 66-68 Chevy’s with BIG block’s in them. Especially post cars!

#7

You can’t recreate paint like this. You just gotta drag one outside and let her sit for about twenty years. This thing would be awesome with a diesel swap.

Another clean little foxbody.

#5

This 1993 Cobra only had 60k miles on it and was a very, very clean ride!

#4

This was one cool rod. This model a had a ton of motor work done to it. Sounded like it would really move on down the road for what it is.

#3

I’m also a sucker for old Highway Patrol cars especially North Carolina.

Classic styling, meets modern technology. This thing is clean and very well built. The owner said he had over 80k invested and I don’t doubt it one bit!

Okay, I know what you are thinking, I’ve gone crazy. But I LOVE this car. For several reasons. One I’ve been a big fan of the Monte Carlo Aero Coupes for years and this is the sister car to it. Two the NASCAR history is cool. Three my uncle bought a 1966 Pontiac “2+2” new in 1966 so that adds major cool points. And four I was born in 1986 and I have a fetish for 1986 cars. So that is why this baby is number one!

JDSMotorsports.com Top Ten Picks: Turkey Rod Run 2012

At first I was having some trouble finding ten cars that really jumped out at me at the 39th Annual Turkey Rod Run in Daytona Beach, FL but by Friday night at Belair Plaza I had more than enough. I actually ended up with about twenty cars that I had picked for the “top ten” but I narrowed it down to ten somehow! Enjoy!

#10
I’m not really sure what this thing is, but it looks like it would be a ton of fun especially for cruising at the beach!

#9
An Oakland, how rare are these things? I can’t remember the last time I saw one especially in running shape!

#8
First off late model Hemi swaps are way under rated in my opinion. But what makes this one so cool is they did it in an odd car. You don’t see very many nicely modified early Barracuda convertibles let alone with a late model Hemi in them.

#7

#6
I’m not sure what exactly it was the caught my eye about this one, heck I’m not even sure what year it is? Early 1950’s though, I like the color, the straight six, love the four speed, its just a cool hot rod!

#5
This thing was just too unique and different not to include. Its a Volkswagon Bug of some year made to look like a 1940 Ford and a woodie at that. Not really my cup of tea, but a nice ride regardless!

#4
Here is a rare one for ya!!

#3
This car could have easily went number two or number one on the list. This 1959 Chevy was a nice blend of original and modern. Notice the air ride controls sitting in the seat.

#2
My late-uncle bought a very similar car to this brand new in 1966. In fact it is still sitting in our garage. Only his wasn’t a convertible and his was a 4-speed. But still the same color, 421 engine, etc. The 2+2’s are pretty rare cars. In all other years they were Catalina 2+2’s but in 1966 they were simply 2+2’s.

#1
When I saw this Friday morning I knew it was going to be number one no matter what else I ran across. I am a HUGE 50’s chevy business coupe fan, we had a 1958 for years that we just sold last spring, you never see any, especially 58’s and 59’s. This one is a very rare example. Business coupe, big block, automatic, air conditioning, power steering, power windows, power seat, padded dash, power brakes. This would be one sweet ride!
