RK Motors Charlotte Auction: The NASCAR Lots

This one isn’t exactly a NASCAR race car, but its close enough. A.J. Foyt’s USAC car and the last car he ever drove to a championship.


All you need to go with these two is an Alan Kulwicki number seven to complete your 1992 NASCAR collection!

Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach 2013: The Charity Cars

One great thing that separates Barrett-Jackson from all the rest is the amount of charity cars that they run through at each auction. If you missed our article back in January about all the charity cars from Scottsdale CLICK HERE for the NASCAR items and CLICK HERE for a list of the other charity items inside our event recap.

Here is a look at some of this years charity items.

Lot 3006: President Bush’ F150



This truck sold at Scottsdale for $300,000 dollars to benefit Fisher House Charities. It was purchased by Rick Hendrick. It’s being sold in Palm Beach to benefit the National Guard Youth ChalleNGe program.

Lot 3003: 2011 Dodge Challenger SRT8



Lot 3005: 2012 Ford F-650



Lot 3004: 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible 




Barrett-Jackson and NASCAR Raise Millions For Charity

For years now many NASCAR stars have attended the Barrett-Jackson collector car auction in Scottsdale, Arizona both to build their own personal collections and to raise millions of dollars for charity. 2013 was no different. Check out some of the charity money that was raised this year!

Kurt Busch

Kurt Busch and his girlfriend Patricia Driscoll auctioned off a custom 1969 Ford Bronco for the Armed Forces Foundation. The Bronco brought $500,000 dollars.

Rick Hendrick

Rick Hendrick left several million dollars at Barrett-Jackson, both for charity and to add for his own personal collection. Check out some of the things that were on his purchase list!

He won the very first 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray for $1,100,000. All of the proceeds went to the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan.

Rick also bought a 1958 Chevrolet Corvette for $270,000 to benefit Habitat For Humanity. Click the link below to watch.


Hendrick and his driver Jeff Gordon also got in on the bidding for former President George W. Bush’s Ford F150 truck in which the proceeds went to the Fisher House. The truck sold for $300,000.

Jeff Gordon

Jeff Gordon donated a car out of his personal collection, a rare Jeff Gordon Monte Carlo, the street version of his famous #24 Dupont race car to be auctioned off along with an actual #24 race car. This car was auctioned at a prior auction for $500,000. The winner Ron Pratt re-donated the car to be auctioned off again. Both cars brought $350,000 dollars for AARP’s Drive To End Hunger.

Ray Evernham

One of the coolest cars to go across the auction block in Scottsdale was Ray Evernham’s “For-Ply”. A 1964 Plymouth Belvedere customized and built by Ray himself. The car was auctioned off for charity to benefit IGNITE which supports young adults with high-functioning autism or Asperger’s syndrome. Rey’s son Ray J is one of many individuals who have Asperger’s. This car brought $180,000 dollars with Ron Pratt throwing in $100,000 dollars bringing the total to $280,000.

Rusty Wallace

Rusty Wallace built a custom 2012 Ford Mustang race car to be auctioned off. The car brought $200,000 dollars for the NASCAR Foundation.
