The ZR1 is the “King Of The Hill”, for years, THE Vette I always wanted. This particular ZR1 in Lot 7004.1 is the “Active Suspension” prototype, making it ultra rare out of the GM Heritage Collection.

Lot 1289.1, yeah, that’s a Pontiac Fuel Injected car, ultra rare! Ultra cool!

Lot 1456, the JFK Ambulance, always a car surrounded in a little bit of controversy. One things for sure, it always makes for good TV!

Lot 1390, better known as CERV 1. Developed by Zora Arkus-Duntov, one of the most innovative, important pieces of automotive history in American history. This car has a real chance at being top seller of the weekend in my opinion.

“Tanker” Corvette’s are cool, split window coupe’s are cool, Z06’s are cool, cars owned by famous people in the automotive world are cool. Well Lot 1363 has all of that and more! Check it out!

Honestly, there is just too many awesome cars to talk about today! Just get in front of the TV and watch all of Velocity’s coverage!! It’s gonna be epic!

Ebay Find Of The Week: 1961 Chevy Corvette Fuel Injected Barn Find

Fuel injected, barn find? This thing is too cool not to be the Ebay Find Of The Week!

Below is the article from the ad.

We are selling a 61 project that one of our clients has been putting together for several years.  When he bought this 61 it had a 327 in it, the one you can see in the pics.  He bought a 283 and a set of 461 heads and had it stamped but never built it.  He has a original fuel injection unit and an original intake and an original distributor and the correct exhaust manifold with no boss drilled in it sitting in a box on the side.  The unit has a a serial num of 1408 and a part num of 7017320.  Look at the pic and see what you think.  The body is very dirty but appears unhit.  The area around the heater box will need repair, otherwise good shape.  The frame has surface rust from sitting in the barn for 20+ years but not structural.  The car is sitting on rollers but I found 5 wheels in the barn that appear original.  We have a soft top frame and a hard top.  There are the two seats in the car and two more on top.  It is plain to see the car was not a fuelie from the factory, check the pics.  There are several new parts, mostly grill and trim type things.  So to recap, two engines, 5 wheels, FI unit, intake, dist, 461 heads, 4 seats, hardtop, soft top frame, many boxes of old and some new parts, generator, starter, bell housing, tranny all appear correct.

Mecum Kissimmee Auction To Feature Huge Collection Of Rare Corvettes

The upcoming Mecum auction in Kissimmee, Florida on January 18th – January 27th features what has to be the largest collection of super rare Chevrolet Corvette’s ever brought together at one event. Big brake cars, “tanker” cars, L88’s, big blocks, split window’s, fuelie’s, Z06, Zr1, you name it, they are going to be going across the blocks at the Mecum auction in Kissimee.

It would take all day to list them all but I thought I’d touch on a couple of dozen or so.

Things really start off getting nice with a nice factory air 1963 split-window coupe in lot number W181. Looking for a newer collectible? How about a 1994 ZR1 with 11,900 miles in lot T102 or a 5,500 mile 1996 Grand Sport in lot T92. Not excited yet? How about the first big brake car of the week? A 1962 Big Brake Fuelie car in lot T230.
Now I’ve got your attention don’t I? Well its only Thursday. Friday is when your head will really start to spin!
Lot F60 starts us off early Friday with a 1962 Fuelie car. But they really heat up at lot F245 with a 1962 Big Brake, “Tanker” Fuelie car. Anyone of these options would make this a rare find, but all three together? Look out! Or how about the very next lot? Lot F246 a factory 1957 race car. Of course its fuel injected. Lot F247 is a nice 64 Convertible. Fuel Injected of course. Lot F248 might be my favorite car of the auction. A beautiful rare charcoal grey color catches your eye on this 1958 big brake fuelie car. Or how about F250? Not only is this 1959 a big brake car and a fuelie car, its a barn find and in amazing original condition. Finishing off Friday is a 1959 Big Brake Fuelie in lot number F270

Impressed yet? At rough count at this point there have been 6 split-windows, 3 LT1’s, 4 big brake cars, 1 “tanker” car, and 12 Fuelie’s. And the best is yet to come!

S118– 1965 Big Tank Fuelie Coupe
S122– Big Brake, Tanker, Fuelie is there an echo in here?
S120 same ole’ same ole’. I mean these are once in a life time cars, and there are going to be rows of them at Kissimmee!
S128-Should really be Lot Z06
S147– Big Brake, fuelie, 1957
S158– How about a COPO Vette?
S160– This is an odd one, a “Tanker” car without a fuelie unit! A poor man’s ride!
S164– An ULTRA RARE ZR2
How about a pair of L88’s? S159 and S172.
Lot S187 is the famous “Entombed” Corvette.
We finish off our list with a rare Pennant Blue 1955 at lot number S193.

But this is just a scratch of the surface. I lost count at around two dozen big block cars, several other 1954’s, one 1953. This auction has it all. My rough count of the rare ones is as follows.
Split-Window’s-9
LT1’s-5
Big Brake Cars-8
C2 Z06’s-1
COPO’s-1
“Tanker” Cars-5
Fuel Injected Cars-21
L88’s-2
ZR2’s-1

Show me a more rare collection of Vette’s than that! For more info visit Mecum.com

JDSMotorsports.com will be your home for tons of Mecum Kissimee coverage and commentary so check back next week for more!

I’ll leave you with a little more drool material.
