10th Annual JDRF Charity Car Show

The 10th Annual JDRF Charity Car Show was another huge success! Thanks to all of those who came out and all of those who supported! We raised just over $3,000 dollars for JDRF! Check out all the coverage below!

It was our first year as a two day show, Friday night we had a BBQ rib dinner along with a concert by Limited Distance. It was gloomy but never rained, we had about 40 cars along with some spectators, a great time was had! We will be back next year again on Friday night!

9th Annual JDRF Charity Car Show

Another JDRF Charity Car Show is in the books! First off, I’d like to say thank you to all the sponsors, volunteers, spectators and especially to everyone that brought their cars out! Even with a chance of rain dozens of first class cars showed up! All in all we had 191 cars. A new record! Still shy of our overall goal of 200, but we will get there!

Before I start with the event coverage, I’d like to say a word about the awards, first off, if you didn’t get your award and won one, I’ll be getting it to you either in person or via the mail in the next week. I know alot of people left or couldn’t here us when the sound system died. Second, there was about six awards in some of the classes that I skipped, I apologize to those people and will announce those winners in a few minutes. We were in a hurry up all day with the judging process and awards, but there is just so much hurry you can put into judging almost 200 cars. As always we take a look at our process and make changes every year, next year, major changes will be made to the awards and judging process including a move to a computerized process to prevent human error. I apologize to those few that I skipped and ask everyone to be patient with us as with the whole show, even in the 9th year its a growing and learning process! But please don’t loose sight of the overall reason we are all there, to raise money for JDRF! And raise money we did!!

The final total isn’t in yet, but we raised somewhere in the neighborhood of 5800 bucks!!! That is a record for us!! That puts us at OVER 30,000 dollars for 9 years!!!! That is out of this world!!! Thank you!!

I mentioned there were a few award winners I overlooked, again, my apologies and here they are.

1st Annual SEFB.net Dragon Run: Sunday

If you missed Saturday’s recap, CLICK HERE

Sunday morning met us with a huge frost in Bryson City, but hey, its better than snow!

After a quick fuel stop in Franklin, NC, we were on our way to check out some water falls on the way to Highlands, NC.

Our first stop was Dry Falls.

After Dry Falls, we headed up to Bridal Veil Falls.

Next we were on our way to the final stretch of highway for the weekend, we took Highway 28 from Highlands, NC to Walhalla, SC.

Once in Walhalla, we pulled over and said our good byes as most of our members headed back toward Charlotte or Greenville or somewhere in that area.

John and Dylan followed me home to Franklin before saying their goodbyes and heading back to Nashville and Kentucky.

Loading Dylan’s car back on the trailer.

It was quite a weekend! Check out the trip stats!

Proud of these new road stickers on the 2013!

Big thanks to everyone who came out and made this weekend possible!

I’m working on a video now, check back HERE to see it a little later!
