Lot 006: 1953 Hudson Hornet Convertible

I’m a big Hudson Hornet fan. The classic styling, the Twin H Power, what’s not to love? This car is even cooler being a convertible, you never see any convertible’s left.

Lot 027: 1967 Toyota 2000 GT

Take one look at this and you are probably thinking Ferrari or some other exotic. But on second look, you realize this is a Toyota.

Lot 045: 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Z06

Not only is it a split window, not only is it a fuel injected car, but its a Z06. This is a must have for any Corvette collector.

Lot 109: 1956 Chevrolet Corvette SR1  Tribute Car

The SR1, one of the prettiest Corvette race cars ever built. Every one wants to own one, unfortunately, not everyone can own the original. So someone took the time to build a well done tribute car. I have no problem with it, I’d be just as happy to own it!

Lot 120: 1990 Ferrari F40

One of the coolest sports cars of all time, anytime there is an F40 at the auction you cannot pass it up!

Lot 147: 1969 Chevrolet Corvette L88

Just look at it, one of the baddest Corvette’s in any color, let alone black!

Lot 155: 1962 Shelby Cobra

Everyone gets so caught up in the kit Cobra look, the 427’s and the side pipes that you forgot how much of a classic look the early small block Cobra’s had!

Lot 013: 1954 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gull Wing

It’s a Gull Wing, had to make the list!

Lot 127: 1964 Ferrari 250 GT Lusso

I’ll admit, I’m not very educated on my early Ferrari’s, but this thing is an absolute work of art. The styling and design is just out of this world.

Lot 033: 1950 Ferrari 166 MM/195 S Berlinetta Le Mans

Alot of these bigger auctions place what they expect the car to bring on their listings. Usually I try to ignore it so it doesn’t sway my opinion’s on cars. It would be easy for me to pick the top ten most valuable cars and look like I hit a home run. But this list isn’t about that. Its a mix of popular cars with personal taste. But when i see a car listed that is expected to bring five to six million dollars, well it has to go on the list!

Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale 2014 Tuesday Recap

Day one is in the books at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale!

Lets take a look at how our cars to watch did, if you missed the original post about them, CLICK HERE

1990 Ford Mustang 7 Up Car: $9,900- Very fair price, figured it would have went for a few more thousand

1974 Chevrolet El Camino: $20,900- Strong money! Twice what I figured it was worth!

1976 Pontiac Trans Am: $23,100- Fair market price

1972 Winnebago: $12,100- I so would have bought this!

1934 Ford 3 Window-$45,100- You couldn’t build it for that!

1970 Plymouth Barracuda Convertible(blue)- $52,250- A little more coin than I figured!

1970 Plymouth Barracuda Convertible(orange)- $44,000- About what I figured, I actually liked this one better than the blue one.

1969 Ford Talladega- $110,000- Really? Wow! These cars have never got the respect they deserve as compared to the Daytona and Superbird, until now!

1963 Chevrolet Corvette- $55,000- Strong money for this car.

1970 Dodge Challenger T/A- $66,000- About right were I figured this car would be

I can’t believe how much money the early Mustang convertibles were bringing! Check out these two!

The second one is a little high, but the first one was out of this world high! If this is the trend, fastback cars may bring 200k!

There were a few decent deals, but nothing I would consider a bargain! I can’t believe how high the cars were tonight! Records will surely be broken come the weekend!

Here are our top ten cars to watch for the day!

Lot 3000

Charity cars are always hot at Barrett-Jackson and for good reason! This GT500 will go to benefit the Wounded Warriors Family Support.

Lot 3001

Another charity ride, this 1957 Lincoln is going to raise money for the Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital.

Lot 7000

1970 Chevrolet Camaro Z28. A very nicely optioned 70 Z, we had the mate to this car a few years ago in our garage only with an M21 instead of an M22. I know what we sold ours for, I bet this one goes for a lot more!

Lot 183

Another Z28, these 1979 models have been hot at shows I’ve been to, especially 4-speeds. This car should set or maybe reset the market on them.

Lot Number 116

F1’s always have a special place in my heart, this 1950 is no exception.

Lot 93

King of The Hill, the ZR1. Always been a bucket list car of mine!

Lot 134

Gotta love an old Packard. This 1953 Clipper appears to be all original, although I’m not sure what the value is or how big the market is for something like this.

Lot 169

The Buick Grand National, the car that might be credited for bringing back the Muscle Car along side the Foxbody Mustangs of the late 80’s. This low mile example should be a good sign whether those people hording these cars in their garage should keep up the hording, or start driving them!

Lot 146

Be interesting to see if this Barrett-Jackson Mustang really is anything special on resale, or if its just another one of the hundreds of “special edition” Mustangs we’ve saw over the past 6 or 7 years.

Lot 127

Going on Thursday this car could end up being steal of the show.  Other than the incorrect 454 engine this Vette has all the right options to fetch big money.

Well that’s all for the day! Be sure and check back tomorrow for more cars to watch!
